There reference in the title is to an unscrupulous practice some car dealers will engage in to deceive the buyer into believing the car has driven less than it actually has. Statutes exist in many states to protect prospective buyers from such chicanery.

Now if only there were a statute to prevent social media giant Twitter from doing the same thing to hapless account owners. The company’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, will be the first to tell you that Twitter avoids nefarious practices designed to control the content. Yet, in a 2018 interview Dorsey confessed that he and his employees harbor a left-leaning bias, but added:

We need to constantly show that we are not adding our own bias, which I fully admit is … is more left-leaning.

So how successful has the company been at suppressing its liberal inclinations? Not very, judging from the anecdotal evidence provided by conservative tweeters. Many insist that their number of followers have precipitously declined from one day to the next. Is it possible that a person can lose half his followers over night? If only there were proof that Twitter is guilty of shenanigans!

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The video below seems to be pretty damning. The user, Crux, identifies himself in his Twitter bio to be a “follower of The Lord Jesus Christ American Patriot #MAGA #Qanon.” Crux would appear to be precisely the type of Twitter user Dorsey et al. can’t countenance.

But you can decide for yourself after watching the clip, which Crux tweeted out. It’s short, only 16 seconds. Keep your eyes on the number of retweets, designated by the symbol .

It would be interesting to hear Dorsey’s explanation for this.
