And the hits just keeping coming. It hardly raises an eyebrow any longer when an illegal alien deported multiple times reenters the country and kills an American citizen, as was the case here.
It was also the case for Reeaz Khan, an illegal alien from Guyana, who raped and murdered a 92-year-old(!) Queens woman last week.
Khan was a beneficiary not only of New York’s sanctuary status but of the city’s new “bail reform” law, which effectively turns wrongdoers lose onto the street with the hope they’ll show up for their arraignment.
In Khan’s case, the bail reform law kicked in last November when he got into a scrape with his father. Via the New York Post, Khan was accused of using a broken ceramic mug to slash the chest and arm of his 42-year-old dad, who required hospitalization. He was charged with misdemeanor assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. He was then released without bail.
Around this time, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer request with the New York Police Department for Khan, but it was ignored because of New York’s sanctuary status.
Now thanks to both policies, 92-year-old Maria Fuertes, Khan’s most recent victim, is dead.
Another beneficiary of this new liberal brand of justice is Jordan Randolph, a 40-year-old man with a lengthy criminal rap sheet. Randolph, Randolph, who has a history of drunk driving, was arrested and released without bail on January 1. Eleven days later, he killed 27-year-old Jonathan Armand Flores-Maldonado in another DUI incident.
