How adorable! The wife of newly elected California state Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced that she will eschew the traditional title of “first lady” in favor of “first partner,” which she views as more inclusive.
ABC7 in Sacramento reports that “the title change reflects the mindset of a woman who has spent years as a passionate advocate for gender equality.” It also reflects the mindset of a woman so deeply immersed in political correctness that she is in danger of drowning over her having taken on her husband’s last name in marriage. Rather than go by “Jennifer Siebel,” California’s new first lady — oops, first partner — chooses to call herself “Jennifer Siebel Newsom.”
According to the article, Mrs.(!) Newsom is an actress and documentarian who has made two films that examine gender roles.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Miss Representation,” released in 2011, looks at how the media contributes to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence.
“The Mask You Live In” came out in 2015 to examine the flip side of that coin — how society’s definition of masculinity is harmful to men and boys.
Her husband, Gavin Newsom (Siebel), who ran on a platform that included universal healthcare for illegal aliens, doubled down on that promise yesterday. His first act in office was to propose extending state healthcare benefits to cover more illegals.
Sounds like a marriage made in liberal heaven … which is also known as hell.
