Republishing social media messages without careful vetting may be dangerous to a news organization’s health. If nothing else, displaying crass profanity on air can get a TV network in trouble with the FCC.
Thank Washington Examiner reporter T. Beckett Adams for catching CNN with its pants down by running one of GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s daily tweets on-screen. What makes this particular tweet doubly unfortunate for the cable news leader is that the image is part of a photo collage that is not even germane to the story, which focuses on efforts by Trump’s Democratic counterpart’s to counteract his mass appeal.
The tweet follows, though before you look at closely, you are advised to send the children out of the room. You will note it is not Trump’s language this time this is the source of CNN’s agitá. Rather, it is the rather obscene reaction of a Twitter user named Parker.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
