GQ, that bastion of taste, has a listing in its year-end issue of the Craziest Politicians of 2014. But as the New York Post notes, only three of the 20 pols featured — “Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson and America’s reigning nabob of nuttiness, Joe Biden” — are Democrats.
It gets better:
In a note appended to the story, GQ defensively said it wasn’t guilty of “standard liberal-media bias,” it just couldn’t find any loony Democrats to speak of.
You gotta love it. This is the classic “dirty pictures” argument that the mainstream media have been making for decades. In this case, author Stephen Sherrill wracked his brain and failed to come up with the names Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, or Wendy Davis.
The Post goes on to help GQ out by identifying 16 Dems who fit the magazine’s definition of crazy, which judging from an introductory paragraph, includes but transcends “seriously looney” [sic]. In fact, if you venture into the descriptions themselves, the dishonor should probably be dubbed the “Dumbest Politicians of 2014.”
