Howard “Howie” Kurtz (which is how his name appears at Wikipedia) has long been a critic of the media. His views on the Fourth Estate would probably have been more acceptable to liberals back when he was a writer at the Washington Post, the Daily Beast, and CNN (i.e., when he was officially one of them). Then again, back then he probably wouldn’t have been quite as hard on even-handed toward the leftist press as he is now that he is a media analyst with Fox News Channel (aka “the enemy”).
Last night, Howie was a guest of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, expounding on the media’s handling of events in Ferguson, Mo. His comments included the opinion that some outlets of the left were contributing to a “lynch mob mentality.”
Real Clear Politics has a video of his comments, reproduced below, along with the transcript.

I just think that when you cross that line into becoming an advocate and to demanding that somebody be prosecuted before the facts are in, while the investigation is going on, you’re grandstanding, you’re trying to keep the story alive and I really think it’s troubling.
