[Ed. – In reality, Democrats could care less about the Capitol Police because they are police (aka, the ‘enemy.’) The awarding of the
Medal of Honor Congressional Gold Medal was an empty gesture, done purely to magnify the Jan. 6 riots.]
President Joe Biden signed legislation giving the men and women of the Capitol Police and the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department the Congressional Medal of Honor [sic] last week. But no mention was ever made of the thousands of other law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line protecting cities throughout the violent riots of 2020.
“Police officers are not what you do,” Biden said of the officers who defended the Capitol on Jan. 6. “It is who you are. … America owes you a debt we can never fully repay.”
The nation does owe the officers who faced down a violent mob at the Capitol on Jan. 6 a debt of gratitude. But what about the debt we owe to the federal officers who faced a much larger, much more violent mob, night after night, while they protected the federal courthouse from rioters in Portland, Oregon?
