Bidens getting a cat at the White House

The Biden dogs, Champ and Major, will soon be getting a feline sibling.

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden confirmed in a Friday interview that they are planning on welcoming a cat to the White House.

“He’s waiting in the wings,” the first lady said, before correcting herself on the future first kitty’s gender, stressing, “She’s waiting in the wings.”

After NBC News’s Craig Melvin asked if adopting a cat was the president’s idea, he replied with a smile, “No, but it’s easy.”

Major, the younger of the Bidens’ two German shepherds, has made headlines following multiple biting incidents. A White House spokesman said earlier this month that the dog, which the Bidens adopted from the Delaware Humane Association, would receive “private training” away from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. to help him adjust to life in the executive mansion.
