As the trial of Derek Chauvin nears its conclusion, most voters expect the former Minneapolis police officer to be convicted in George Floyd’s death, but think riots will follow the verdict whatever the jury decides.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 78% of Likely U.S. Voters say it’s likely the Minneapolis jury will convict Chauvin, including 38% who say a guilty verdict is Very Likely. Only 15% think it’s likely the former policeman will be acquitted. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
