Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warned Friday that 10 percent of migrants at two different facilities in his state have tested positive for COVID-19.
Not only that, but one of those locations has unsafe drinking water that could be contaminated with arsenic.
“What we learned in Midland just in the past hour is two things. One is they have no proven clean running water at the location,” he said.
“They were using well water that the Texas commission on Environmental Quality has informed the federal government has not been proven to be safe. … So the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is evaluating the water, the running water …” the governor said.
“Then on top of that, more than 10% of the migrants at the Midland location have now been tested positive for COVID-19. In addition to that, you mentioned the Carrizo Springs location, we also learned in the past hour that more than 10% of the migrant population at that location has tested positive …”
