GOP Senate proposal on minimum wage bill is pretty clever, even though Romney’s in it

[Ed. – Matt Vespa calls it good trolling, and hey, it probably is.  What has me in ROTFLOLz is that 10 years ago, Romney would have been on exactly the opposite side of this.  AGAINST a minimum wage increase, but FOR leaving the illegals situation to fester, with hundreds of thousands streaming across the border every year.  Romney was a big proponent of what was being called a “comprehensive solution” back then; i.e., lying and saying we were improving border security, and at the same time remaining blind to illegal border crossings and massive shadow-economy employment.]

So, we’re going to have this debate. So, Senate Republicans decided to put forward their own minimum wage hike. It’s actually not a bad idea. We’ll raise it, but it’s only for American citizens. It makes su[r]e that illegal aliens cannot be hired by businesses … I  like the trolling (via NBC News):

As Democrats try to plot a way forward to raise the minimum wage to $15-an-hour, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, announced Tuesday that he’s working on a separate bill to increase the long stagnant minimum wage while “ensuring businesses cannot hire illegal immigrants.”

Romney said he’s working on the bill with Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and it also includes a provision for the minimum wage to “increase automatically with inflation.” …
