[Ed. – I watched a video of his speech (which ran about 25 minutes), and it was about the wall and border security.  He said little about the melodrama in Washington, other than that he doesn’t expect the 25th Amendment gambit to go anywhere.]

In the midst of national tension over the U.S. Capitol riot and calls for his removal, President Donald Trump pressed on with a visit Tuesday to the south Texas portion of his signature border wall. …

“Free speech is under assault like never before,” Trump said, possibly alluding to his own Twitter account being permanently suspended and right-wing social media platform Parler being removed from app stores in the wake of the riot.

Supporters who gathered at the Harlingen airport to catch a glimpse of Air Force One carrying Trump refused to admit the debate [in Congress] overshadowed his legacy.

As Trump left the Valley, there did not appear to be any sign of violence or even arrests despite Trump supporters and protesters having spent the day within feet of one another.
