A food chain based outside of Washington, D.C., touted that it increased its diversity hiring practices and lowered the percentage of white people it employs.
“Diversity matters — in the workforce and beyond. We’ve made strides to make CAVA a diverse, inclusive workplace and remain committed to expanding on the following,” the Mediterranean food chain CAVA said in a graph that was shared on its Twitter page Friday.
The graph showed that employment of white people at the company’s headquarters sits at 21%, down from 37% in 2019, while Hispanic employment sits at 45%, unchanged from 2019, and black employees make up 14% of the team, up from 4% in 2019, among other racial demographics.
CAVA’s data also included that 67% of its overall team is made up of white employees, down from 69% in 2019. …
