Judge dismisses Gohmert election lawsuit targeting Pence legislative powers

[Ed. – The dismissal was based on lack of standing.  Have to say I didn’t agree with this tack: I’d hate to see what a Veep without Pence’s integrity would do with poorly articulated default powers to reject electoral results.  Again, if we want the Veep to have such powers, write ’em down in narrow language in statutory law (or amend the Constitution).]

A federal judge threw out a lawsuit from Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas and several Arizona Republicans seeking to force Vice President Mike Pence to help throw the election to President Donald Trump next week when Congress meets to count the Electoral College votes.

Judge Jeremy Kernodle said Gohmert and the others lacked standing to sue.
