Say it ain’t so! Barrett to use Ginsburg’s old SCOTUS chambers
Amy Coney Barrett

Oh, the humanity! Is nothing sacred? It’s bad enough that Republicans refused to respect the late justice’s alleged final wish that someone other than Donald Trump nominate her replacement. Or that in their haste to rush through a replacement for Ginsburg, who died Sept. 18, they chose an — ugh! — originalist. But now this?

In an article whose title matches the one appended to this post, The Hill reports in its lede paragraph:

Newly confirmed Justice Amy Coney Barrett will use the Supreme Court chambers formerly occupied by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a court spokesperson said Tuesday.

It wasn’t clear where Barrett would set up shop behind the scenes on the high court. Chuck Schumer was probably hoping they would throw together a crude hovel out behind The Marble Palace where Barrett could spin her greedy machinations to kill Obamacare and end Roe v. Wade.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The article goes on to note that the newest justice has already shown the audacity not to click her heels and salute when “asked by a county in Pennsylvania to recuse herself from participating in a dispute over the state’s mail-ballot extension.”

It further adds:

Barrett is the first justice in modern history to be confirmed without bipartisan support, underscoring Democratic frustration with the GOP push to confirm her and misgivings about her judicial philosophy.

Interesting that Democrats — and The Hill, for that matter — were less vexed by the lack of bipartisanship in 2010 when Congress rammed through without a single Republican vote a piece of legislation that accounted for more than one-sixth of the economy.
