Art appreciation: Ted Cruz asks for copy of Jim Carrey’s ‘hellbound’ portrait of him

[Ed. – I can’t decide if it’s Ron Perlman in Hellboy or Tim Curry in the shoulda-been-a-cult-classic Legend (dumbest movie ever made, hands down.]

On Sunday night, actor turned painter Jim Carrey revealed his latest work, a very red painting of Texas US Senator Ted Cruz. It was captioned, “Ted Cruz, hellbound class of 2020.”

Canadian-born Carrey’s history of attacking prominent Republicans with his art goes back for quite a while now. The first one dates back to March of 2018, which was captioned:  “This is the portrait of a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked. Monstrous!”
