Man charged with killing woman in dispute over minor crash that did not involve him

St. Louis authorities are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed a woman after a minor traffic accident over the weekend that did not involve him.

Deion Whalen, 23, of Riverview, was charged Sunday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of VIctoria [sic] McBee, 34.

Whalen “poses an immediate danger to the victim’s family, and the community at large,” police said Monday.

Charging documents say a relative of McBee’s and another person were in a minor car accident Saturday when Whalen, who was not involved in the crash, approached the scene and threatened McBee’s relatives with a rifle, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

McBee “attempted to de-escalate the situation before finally pushing the defendant,” prompting Whalen to shoot her at point-blank range, according to charging documents.
