[Ed. – In case you were wondering.  As already planned, the delegates – but not hangers-on – will meet to cast the votes in Charlotte.  No events now in Jacksonville, apparently.  That’s where the gala acceptance speech was to be given.  The upside: nothing for Deep State bureaucrats to arrange to invite the Russian ambassador to.  The dates are 24-27 August, BTW.  The Democrats go first, 17-20 August.  As of now, they aren’t planning on a delegates gathering in Milwaukee; the voting will be remote.]

Republicans feel discouraged that President Trump will not accept the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in person at a convention in Jacksonville, Florida, due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. …

Republican delegates will, instead, only meet in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the business component of the convention. Additionally, Trump said Republicans would hold “telerallies” and other events online.

House Republican lawmakers, though, pointed to Trump’s large rallies, his greatest strength on the 2016 campaign trail, being stifled during this election cycle and said the cancellation of the Jacksonville convention is no exception.
