[Ed. – All right, it’s not funny. Some real things are happening, such as North Korea cutting off some communications with the South and blowing up a liaison site with South Korea on the North Korean side of the DMZ. So far it’s been words and self-inflicted injuries, however. Pyongyang has little incentive to push further (or, frankly, even do as much as it has). This looks very, very much like Kim doing favors for China to try to complicate life for the United States. Xi Jinping would have every motive to make a point of that at the moment.]
North Korea says it’s already set to drop 12 million leaflets in what would be the largest such psychological campaign against its southern rival, according to the Associated Press.
The leaflets will purportedly be transported by 3,000 balloons and other methods.
“Our plan of distributing the leaflets against the enemy is an eruption of the unquenchable anger of all the people and the whole society,” the North’s official Korean Central News Agency said. “The time for retaliatory punishment is drawing near.”
