[Ed. – America sees that Ms. Midler thinks freedom and life are incompatible; shrugs, says “Too bad,” moves on.]
Singer Bette Midler sent out a series of tweets over the past day talking about the behavior of some Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“There are very powerful interests who demand ‘freedom’ in order to do as they like with the environment, society and economy,” she said in a tweet on Tuesday evening. “They have infused a very large part of American culture with the belief that ‘freedom’ is literally more important than life.”
“My freedom to own assault weapons trumps your right not to get shot at school,” she said in another tweet.
