Nervous Dem megadonor reportedly urging party leaders to rally around candidate to thwart Bernie

A well-known Democratic mega-donor has reportedly reached out to party leaders to rally behind a 2020 candidate in an effort to thwart the campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Bernard Schwartz, the CEO of BLS Investments, has recently tried to reach out to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, according to CNBC.

“We should know who is the best person to beat Donald Trump, and with all due respect, Bernie Sanders cannot beat Trump,” he told the network.

Though he has reportedly not heard back from the Democratic leaders, Schwartz is urging them to take a stand with Super Tuesday looming and Sanders appearing to be the front-runner in the race to capture the nomination.

“They have good political reasons not to endorse until the primary is over, but I think we are losing too much if we give up on this position.”…
