Voters view impeachment as DOA in GOP Senate

Even Democrats consider it highly unlikely that the Republican-run U.S. Senate will remove President Trump from office now that he has been impeached by the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 24% of all Likely U.S. Voters think the upcoming trial in the Senate will result in Trump’s removal from office, and that includes only 12% who say it’s Very Likely. Three-out-of-four voters (73%) say Trump is unlikely to be forced out of the presidency, with 47% who feel it’s Not At All Likely. …

Sixty percent (60%) of Democrats see Trump’s removal from office as unlikely, although that compares to 81% of Republicans and 78% of voters not affiliated with either major political party.
