Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., on Sunday derided administration officials who have come before the House impeachment investigators as “Schiff’s witnesses,” referring to the Intelligence Committee head Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.
In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” the House Minority Whip said there are other administration officials with “countering views.”
“The presidents’s defense is that those things didn’t happen,” Scalise said of accusations that there was a quid pro quo with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy tying military aid with the opening of corruption investigations against Joe Biden and his son.
“Zelenskiy himself … [said] this didn’t happen,” he added, saying: “The real bottom line is he got the money, Ukraine got the money.”
“They are Schiff’s witnesses,” he said of the officials who have come before the impeachment investigators.
