[Ed. – The media have put every headline on this story except the one that matters.  The judge frankly should know he’s asking the banks to disclose information for which the banks have a confidentiality obligation to their client (Trump) — to the entities (House Democrats) suing him for records.  This little passage near the bottom is what counts in the whole sorry, predictable scenario.]

Lawyers for U.S. President Donald Trump asked a federal appeals court on Friday to block Deutsche Bank AG (DBKGn.DE) and Capital One Financial Corp (COF.N) from handing the financial records of the president’s family and the Trump Organization to Democratic lawmakers. …

Raphael Prober, Deutsche Bank’s lawyer, said he could not answer the question in open court because of the bank’s “contractual obligations.” …
