‘Sexually explicit’ lipstick ad divides opinion on Twitter

[Ed. – Wow, a tube of lipstick is a phallic symbol! Who’d a thunk it?]

A new lipstick advert by Nars Cosmetics has divided opinion amongst Twitter users as a result of its “sexually explicit” footage.

The beauty company recently posted an advert for the brand’s latest lipstick collection, After Hours.

In the clip, the melting of a lipstick is shown in reverse, causing the product’s original bullet shape to ripple. The accompanying caption says: “When the nudes keep you up all night.”

Following the post, several Twitter users took to the social media platform to share their surprise after viewing the phallic advert.

Even Chrissy Teigen had something to say about the advert, posting: “Honestly in love with this colour and now I must have it to soften my boner.”

“Is lipstick applied to some other part of the body now?” asked another user.
