[Ed. – Did she come up with that highly original thought all by herself? Did she fail to notice that six women are running for president and one ran as a major party candidate in 2016, all of whom evidently had the same idea?]
Soccer star Megan Rapinoe said “maybe it’s time” for the U.S. to elect a woman as president, but ruled out any potential run for office of her own.
“Maybe it’s time for us as a country to just embrace a woman,” she told CNN, adding that many qualified women have been “overlooked.” “Let’s just see what happens.”
The FIFA Women’s World Cup champion said she has her eye on Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris in the 2020 Democratic primary.

Rapinoe said Warren is “just so smart and like, organized. Like, her thoughts are, like, organized. She has this clear message and she’s powerful.”
“I would never want to get into an argument with Kamala Harris,” she said.
Rapinoe also closed the door on her own run for office as some questioned whether she had a future in politics after she went head to head with President Trump over a visit to the White House.
