Police in Tennessee posted a warning on Facebook Saturday asking residents not to flush drugs down the toilet for fear of creating “meth gators.”

An underwater forest with trees as tall as 60 feet (18 meters) is hampering the nearly 2-week-old search for the body of a woman who was thrown off a boat in Alabama. Many trees weren’t cut down when workers created Smith Lake more than 50 years ago, the Cullman Times reported Tuesday. The lake is northwest of Birmingham.
