[Ed. – It would matter if anyone took Romney seriously or cared about what he thinks.]
Don’t bet on Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, endorsing President Trump in 2020.
The Utah Republican said Friday he may skip endorsing any candidate in the 2020 presidential race.
“I don’t think endorsements are worth a thimble of spit,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if I stay out of the endorsements.”
Romney, who was backed by Trump during his own presidential bid in 2012 and during his 2017 Senate campaign, wrote in the name of his wife, Ann, on his 2016 ballot.
“I still think she’s doing a fine job,” he joked Tuesday.
Romney spoke to reporters during a break at the E2 Summit, which he started in 2012. The annual gathering on politics and policy in Park City, Utah, draws politicians along with wealthy business people and donors.
