[Ed. – ‘I’m able to work with governments, and I’m also able to work with militaries.’]
Angelina Jolie has played a host of characters in her acting career, and now she is hinting at being open to another role: a politician.
“If you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed … I always say I’ll go where I’m needed, I don’t know if I’m fit for politics … but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet,” Jolie told the BBC on Thursday when asked whether she had political aspirations.
“I’m also able to work with governments, and I’m also able to work with militaries, and so I sit in a very interesting place of being able to get a lot done,” she said.
When asked by presenter Justin Webb whether she could be one of the Democrats vying for the party’s presidential nomination in 2020, the 43-year-old Oscar-winning actress and mother-of-six simply replied, “Thank you.”
Jolie has become an active humanitarian since filming “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” in Cambodia in 2001. She has said the experience inspired her to adopt her first child Maddox Jolie-Pitt, now 17, from an orphanage in the third-world country in 2002.
