[Ed. – Sorry, folks. It’s been repaired.]
A malfunctioning ATM had customers receiving $100 bills instead of $10 bills overnight.
Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Bank of America on the North Freeway at FM 1960 around midnight Sunday.
Several people had lined up after word got out about the malfunction on social media.
After about two hours, a DPS trooper spotted one of the social media posts.
Authorities guarded the machine to keep anyone else from using it until it was fixed.
Bank of America sent FOX 26 this statement:
This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills. We have resolved the matter. Customers will be able to keep the additional money dispensed.
