A 12-year-old girl from Rockbridge County (Va.) and her dog will be buried together after they both tragically died over the weekend.

Jennarae Goodbar died Saturday afternoon in the 3000 block of Midland Trail after she was hit by a car while chasing her dog.

“She will always be remembered as a sweet, energetic, dog loving, hunting loving little girl–a little girl who touched the lives of many,” read a GoFundMe page created for the family.

WTVR reported that Jennarae was training Cash outside when she took off running.

The driver was reportedly unable to stop and hit both Jennarae and Cash.

“On day of service [Cash] will be placed in there with [Jennarae] and be buried together,” Donna Jean Stuples told WTVR. “She bought her with her own cash. It was her baby.”

Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.

Her obituary shows that the sixth grader at Maury River Middle School will be laid to rest at Kerrs Creek Baptist Church after a service at Harrison’s funeral home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 3 in Lexington.
