NBC national security reporter Ken Dilanian says that if The New York Times‘ latest bombshell about Donald Trump is true, the president’s actions might have been much riskier than Hillary Clinton‘s in terms of security.
Dilanian made his comment Wednesday night during a discussion with Ali Velshi on the report that Chinese and Russian spies are listening inon Trump whenever he uses his personal, unsecured iPhones to speak with friends. Dilanian he explained how unsecured smartphones can easily be bugged, and the report is suggests “one of the most outrageous examples of negligence I have seen.”
“I can’t tell you how dispiriting this can be to the rank and file of the intelligence community because we spend billions of dollars to protect these secrets,” Dilanian said. “The idea that Donald Trump is giving them away is outrageous.”
Dilanian doubled down on his point today by retweeting the clip, and saying Trump’s reported cell phone situation is “10,000 times worse” than Clinton’s email scandal.
