The 44th season of Saturday Night Live started off with a bang with a star-studded cold open featuring Matt Damon as a beer-bro styledBrett Kavanaugh.
The topic of beer weighed heavily into the epic open as alternately angry and weepy Kavanaugh was questioned by a cast of Senators and Rachel Mitchell, as played by Aidy Bryant.
“I am a keg is half full kind of guy,” the SNL Kavanaugh said at one point before moving to a tearful account of his “beautiful” calendars.
He also said this when questioned by Sen. Amy Klobuchar, as played by Rachel Dratch: “I was the proudest, drunkest virgin you’ve ever seen.”
The supporting cast also stood out.
At one point, Bryant’s Mitchell announced, “I am mostly here for Twitter.”
SNL’s Kate McKinnon, yet again taking on a southern conservative, took on a fired up Sen. Lindsey Graham.
“This is my audition for Mr. Trump’s cabinet and also for a regional production of The Crucible,” McKinnon as Graham over-emoted as she repeatedly dramatically pointed.
