Mark Levin: NYT article claiming Rosenstein plotted against Trump may be a setup

[Ed. – I think most of us who’ve been watching the development of the story on Friday have come to that conclusion.  It’s not just the New York Times; ABC News ran with the story too.  Then ABC, NBC, and WaPo all “updated” it to say Rosenstein was being sarcastic when he “suggested” wearing a wire to talk to the president.  Basically sowing confusing with the competing reports.  The funny part: the media outlets all reacted to each other’s stories with speed-record rapidity.  Looks like a pre-coordinated baiting of Trump from here.  Frankly, I’m (J.E.) not going to bring you headlines that look like such obvious manipulation — unless it’s to debunk them, as Levin suggests.]

Radio host Mark Levin … warned that Trump’s enemies might be trying to goad him into firing Rosenstein before the midterm elections by leaking information from memoranda created by former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who was fired in March for lying.

The Times reported Friday that in 2017, Rosenstein had suggested recording Trump secretly, and had “discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.” Rosenstein denied the latter claim, and Department of Justice sources suggested that Rosenstein had been speaking sacrastically about wearing a wire in meetings with Trump…
