Authorities arrested a man after he intentionally slammed a pickup truck into Dallas television station KDFW-TV on Wednesday morning, the news station reported.
Update 11 a.m. EDT: Police said a man arrested after slamming a pickup truck into KDFW-TV on Wednesday had mental issues and told authorities that “people were trying to kill me.”
Dallas police Maj. Max Geron said the man, who has not been identified, also wanted the media to provide more coverage of a 2012 officer-involved shooting that happened in a nearby county.
Update 10:35 a.m. EDT: Employees were allowed to return to KDFW-TV Wednesday morning after police determined that a suspicious bag left at the scene by the suspect had no explosives on it, according to police.
Authorities do not believe Wednesday’s incident was “an attack motivated against the media,” according to Dallas police Maj. Max Geron.
