New Jersey residents are up in arms over a billboard for a documentary about President Trump – titled “Our Leader the Idiot.”
The man behind the ad in Union Township – which shows the president grimacing and wagging his finger – is a self-proclaimed activist from the Bronx named Neil Harrison.
“Manafort was convicted,” Harrison told News12. “Cohen’s giving up everything he can, and we’re hoping that Trump is next. Basically that’s what we are out here for. I’m an activist and that’s what I do. And we’re trying to drum up some real support here” for the documentary.”
Harrison shelled out about $1,000 to rent space on the billboard from Out Front Media he said – to promote his project and spread his “message against the president.”
Since New York doesn’t allow political messages on billboards, he said, he chose the roughly 60,000-person New Jersey town about 12 miles west of the city.
Residents started to notice the sign last week and town officials posted on Facebook: “Billboards are privately owned and as such the Township of Union has no authority or role in approving what goes up on each of them.”
