[Ed. Has Time actually seen Beto O’Rourke?]
Time magazine on Tuesday devoted over 1600 words to the “handsome” Beto O’Rourke, the liberal hope for Democrats in Texas. O’Rourke is challenging the “dogmatic conservative,” incumbent Senator Ted Cruz.
Time writer Nash Jenkins gushed over the candidate: “The Congressman is lanky, handsome and charismatic. Elderly voters some-times tell him that he reminds them of John F. Kennedy.” Jenkins cheered “the former punk-rock bassist who has spent three terms in the U.S. House” (Perhaps O’Rourke can perform with Joe Scarborough’s band?) …
Nowhere does Jenkins mention that O’Rourke has an F-grade from the NRA. But the journalist seems to have a thing for the liberal. On May 8, he wrote another story touting the “promising fresh face” and marveled, “Something is happening here in south Texas.”
