A homeowner in California has put her house on the market but will not sell it to a supporter of President Donald Trump.
According to CBS Sacramento, the home near California’s capital city has been in the owner’s family for several decades. Now she wants to sell it to someone with similar political views as hers.
“I told [the realtor] that I didn’t want her to sell it to a Trump supporter,” said the woman, who appeared on camera but did not want her name used.

That realtor, Elizabeth Weintraub, told the news station she has never encountered such a stipulation during her career. And she noted it could be difficult to enforce.
“We can ask somebody how they voted, but they don’t have to tell us,” she said.
According to the Fair Housing Act, home sellers may not discriminate against buyers based on their race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin. Political preference is not included in that list, but attorney Allen Sawyer told CBS Sacramento he’s not sure the seller in this case is following the law.
