An unexpected area in which women are superior to men

Binge watching more than four hours of television a day could increase the risk of bowel cancer in men compared to those watching less than an hour, new research suggests.

In one of the largest studies to date, experts analysed data from more than half a million people, and discovered lengthy viewing increased the chance of contracting the disease by 35 per cent.

However there was no increased risk for women, and no link was found between computer screen time and bowel cancer.

The research was carried out by Imperial College London, the University of Oxford and  International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
