Texas primary: Cruz, O’Rourke cruise to party nominations

[Ed. – Soros is flooding Texas with money like there’s no tomorrow.  It’s not clear yet how hard he’ll go at Cruz, but he’s taking no prisoners in the effort to win local contests.  Although O’Rourke isn’t likely to unseat Cruz, the general election remains one to watch.]

Surprising no one, Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, absolutely walloped his Republican primary challengers on Tuesday. The race was called shortly after the polls closed, and at publication time with 15.8 percent of precincts reporting, he led with 84.9 percent of the vote.

Pocketing the win and wasting no time, Cruz moved on to the general election and is now campaigning hard against the presumptive Democratic nominee for Senate, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-Texas. In a press statement thanking Texas primary voters for his win, Cruz said voters will have a “clear choice” in November. …

The Cruz campaign also dropped a new radio ad taunting O’Rourke with a country tune inspired by “If You’re Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in The Band)” by Alabama.
