BBC closes gender pay gap, by reducing some male salaries

Six BBC news “presenters” have agreed to have their salaries cut in order to close the gap between male and female salaries, the BBC reported Friday.

Presenter John Humphrys said it “seems fair” that his salary will be “hugely less,” while Presenter Jeremy Vine called his salary reduction a “no-brainer.”

For its part, the BBC says that it is “very grateful” that the newscasters have agreed to their pay cuts:
