[Ed. – Fascinating. Now we must wait in vain for the years of public annoyance from Republicans throwing tantrums and putting up “Not my delegate!” signs. A one-vote margin is much less likely to be legitimate than the kind of outcome we had in November, but we know Republicans won’t act out that way.]
Democrat Shelly Simonds appears to be the winner in the recount for the 94th District seat, earning 11,608 votes while her opponent Republican incumbent David Yancey earned 11,607. The results must be officially certified by a three-judge panel on Wednesday, but it would split control of the House of Delegates evenly 50-50. Yancey had a lead of just ten votes going into the recount.
