After president’s visit, Tokyo restaurant sells out of ‘TrumpBurgers’

President Trump opted for a regular American burger instead of experimenting with Japanese fare on his first official visit to Asia.

The president sat down on November 4 for burgers with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Saitama Prefecture. His choice of the $10 Colby Jack cheeseburger cooked well-done inspired a wave of diners copying his order in Tokyo.

One of Munch’s Burger Shack’s locations quickly sold out by 2:30pm on Tuesday of the burger America’s commander-in-chief ordered, which he reportedly called “very good.”

Social media did not let the president’s choice go without comment, many tweeters criticizing Trump’s opting for traditional American fare. …
