[Ed. – Not like we couldn’t see this one coming. Hard to say if this will be a net positive or negative. No Trump appointee is ever going to get a fair shake, and Price was doing fine at HHS. We got a reasonably conservative Republican out of the deal to replace Price in Georgia-06, so that was good. And Trump might appoint someone even more useful than Price to HHS. We’ll have to see.]
President Trump accepted Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price’s resignation Friday, the White House announced.
Before he left the White House, Trump called Price a “very fine man” but once again expressed his irritation about Price’s use of private planes.
“I’m not happy, I can tell you,” Trump told reporters as he headed for the presidential helicopter Marine One, en route to a weekend stay at his golf club in New Jersey. “I certainly don’t like the optics. I’m not happy, I can tell you that. I’m not happy.”
