Police are searching for illiterate vandals who tagged Palmetto High Freshman Academy and nearby businesses on Tuesday.
School officials told WYFF they discovered several messages spray-painted in blue on the building, a bus, and sidewalks when they arrived Tuesday morning, including one very ironic missive scrawled on a brick wall: “Shcool is a lie. Status Quo Confirmed!”
On the sidewalk in front of an entrance: “Teach us to think Not obey …”
The glass doors on another entrance read “Tell them the truth your,” while other messages included “Do not obey,” Teach us to think Not obey …” and “they don’t want thought! They want conformity!”
Williamston Police are investigating the incident and other graffiti at a nearby H&R Block and Unity Mortuary of Anderson, Chief Tony Taylor told the Independent Mail.
Anderson School District 1 officials told the news site a cleaning crew was working to remove the graffiti from the campus on Tuesday.
“Taylor said the graffiti messages don’t seem to be gang related, but more ‘anti-God’ or ‘anti-education,’” the Independent Mail reports. “Police planned to look at footage taken by surveillance cameras to identify the suspects.”
