Trump name to be removed from three Manhattan apartment buildings

President-elect Donald Trump‘s name will be removed from three high-rise apartment buildings on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, according to The New York Times.

Hundreds of residents of the Riverside Boulevard apartment complexes signed a petition, “Dump the TRUMP Name,” in October following the then-GOP nominee’s inflammatory comments about women and minorities, the Times added.

“TRUMP PLACE” is spelled across the buildings, though the president-elect is not an owner.

The real estate mogul took part in the buildings’ development, and Equity Residential kept Trump’s name on them and employees’ uniforms after purchasing the complexes, according to the newspaper.

“This week, the Trump Place building names will change to the street addresses — 140, 160 and 180 Riverside Boulevard. The purpose of this change is to assume a neutral building identity that appeals to all current and future residents.”…
