Two of Hillary Clinton’s top aides at the State Department — Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin — told the FBI that they were unaware of the former secretary of state’s use of a private email server.
However, emails they exchanged with one another tell a different story, The Daily Caller reported.
Mills served as Clinton’s chief of staff, and Abedin as deputy chief of staff during Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.
The report the FBI released Friday indicated that most of the State Department employees claimed they “had no knowledge” that Clinton was using a private server, which she kept at her New York home.
“Clinton’s immediate aides, to include Mills, Abedin, Jacob Sullivan, and [redacted] told the FBI they were unaware of the existence of the private server until after Clinton’s tenure at State or when it became public knowledge.”
