I think it would be a misstep to pick Christie for VP, and I think Trump understands that. He knows his base would be disappointed with an all-Megalopolis ticket, positively pulsating with the taint of backrooms-on-the-Hudson chicanery. Chris Christie is one of several people being vetted as a possible running mate by the Trump campaign the NY Times reported Thursday. The Times’ story also reveals that Christie has become one of Trump’s top behind-the-scenes advisers on policy:
Mr. Christie is among those being vetted as Mr. Trump’s possible running mate, according to people briefed on the process, and Mr. Trump has said in interviews that Mr. Christie would have a prominent place in a Trump White House.
