Families of USS Cole victims suffer again at hands of Obama administration

The Obama administration just released a Guantanamo Bay detainee tied to the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000, showing once again that he’s willing to dupe the families of the victims of terrorism.

Kirk Lippold, commander of the Cole, blasted the administration for the move, saying Mashur Abdallah Ahmed al Sabri has “never been held accountable” for his role in the attack.

Officials described Sabri as “a member of an Yememi Al Qaeda cell which was directly involved with the USS COLE attack. Detainee attended advanced training in Afghanistan after recruitment by a known Al Qaeda facilitator.”

In 2014 however, the Obama administration rewrote history, describing him as merely an Al Qaeda “associate” who “probably did not play a significant role in terrorist operations.”
