A Black Lives Matter activist killed himself on the steps of the Ohio Statehouse, say the authorities, but not before sharing his bitter last words on Twitter.
State Highway Patrol officials tell the Columbus Dispatch that MarShawn M. McCarrel II, 23, shot himself outside the front door of the Statehouse on Monday evening.
His last tweet read: ‘Let the record show that I pissed on the state house before I left.’
Lt. Craig Cvetan says McCarrel , who was from the Columbus suburb of Franklin Township, died at the scene. He was not a state employee.
Cvetan says it’s unclear why McCarrel killed himself.
Authorities say nobody saw the shooting, but the man was seen on Statehouse grounds just before the gunshot.
